Nama saintifik keladi tikus ialah Typhonium Flagelliforme (Lodd) BL. Juga dikenali sebagai Tu Ban Xia atau Lao Shu Yu dalam bahasa Cina. Dikategorikan sebagai tumbuhan semak yang hanya mencecah ketinggian antara 25cm hingga  30cm sahaja. Habitatnya di tempat yang lembab dan terhalang daripada sinar matahari secara langsung. Daunnya yang hijau berbentuk bulat dan runcing dihujungnya membentuk seperti daun sirih. Dibahagian akarnya pula terdapat ubi yang berbentuk bulat rata sebesar buah pala. Tumbuhan ini mudah didapati di kawasan Asia Timur.
